As we head toward Easter as a community we will spend a month preparing our hearts and our community to celebrate what Christ has done for us. Below in a picture of how we will be preparing to celebrate the resurrection, and the details so that you can get involved.

A week of Fasting/Prayer

Fasting is essentially giving up food (or something else) for a period of time in order to focus your thoughts on God. While fasting, many people read the Bible, pray, or worship. Fasting is found throughout the Old and New Testaments of the Bible, over fifty times! Following the example of Jesus and the Early Church believers, we too can draw near to God while fasting.

Our staff will be doing a Daniel Fast Monday, April 15 through Friday, April 19. The Daniel Fast is a short-term eating plan drawn from the Old Testament book of Daniel. In the story, Daniel decides to avoid the rich, indulgent foods that surround him and have “nothing but vegetables to eat and water to drink” initially for 10 days. Obviously, our fast is modified to 6 days and will include a few other foods as well. If you decide to do this you should check with your doctor.

Week Long Menu for Daniel Fast

If you choose not to do this particular fast, there are as many ways to honor God with a fast as there are people to be creative in what they wish to abstain from for a period of time in order to focus your thoughts on God.

Service Times

This year we will have 3 identical Easter Services.

  • Saturday, April 20 at 7:00 pm
  • Sunday, April 21 at 9:00 am
  • Sunday, April 21 at 11:00 am

Everyone is welcome, and we will have incredible children's programming available for each of our Easter Services.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him

-JOHN 3:16-17
