Love In Action

October 14th-20th

We live on mission year round. But each year in October we rally together to send a wave of help out into our community. Love in Action is one week where together we spend a week connecting with and focusing our energy around serving our city and beyond.

Love in Action PROJECTS

  • FIll Of Grace Farm | Oct. 14-21

The farm provides literally tons of food that is given away through Helping Hands, Threads and One Bistro. At the end of the growing season, there are many things that have be done to prepare the farm and equipment for winter.

We have two projects happening at the Farm this year. We will be replacing the roof on one of the buildings used for equipment and supplies. Also, we will be constructing a greenhouse! This will enable the Farm to produce food almost year round. There will be work going on Monday through Saturday. Sign up for as many times as you choose.

Join the Fill of Grace Garden of Plenty Facebook Group! This is the best way to stay up to the minute on ALL the happenings at Fill of Grace Farm.

  • Food Bagging | Oct. 14

We will partner with Lifeline to bag meals for distribution right here in the Miami Valley! The meals are mac & cheese and oatmeal. They will be distributed through Helping Hands, Blessings in a Bag and BOGG. We are still raising money to help cover the cost of the food supplies. If you can help us reach our goal, make a donation to MCC Missions and note Food on the gift.

On Sunday morning, October 14 will will have 100 volunteers bagging food during our 9:30 and 11am worship services. Participants package, weigh, seal, and/or box up the finished product to prepare for shipment. Young and the young-at-heart can work together to help hungry people understand that God will provide!

  • Helping Hands | Oct. 17

Helping Hands is a Miamisburg food pantry that serves the food insecure in our community. Donations come in through local churches and individuals in both cash and food supplies. Hundreds of families are served each month through the generous donations from caring people.

They have asked us to help collect items for their Christmas Baskets this year. You can drop off: pancake syrup, brownie mix or Jiffy biscuit mix on Sundays or during the week (M-TH, 9-4:30) at MCC. We will have the trough set up in the Worship Center

We need 6 volunteers to help the team unload the truck from the Dayton Food Bank Wednesday Oct 17 at 11:30am. We will also need 2 volunteers to provide lunch for the 8 HH regular volunteers. It will be our way of saying thank you for all their work.
